Bought in 2007, the 8 Wells dining chairs and Stamford rectangular table have lived through the typical life cycle at the centre of family life. Apart from being the base for family meals, the table has been a creative centre for children exploring their artistic abilities, as they have grown from children into young adults.
The chairs have been well used, but had suffered from the attention of another enthusiastic house member – the dog! Weave on the chair corners and braiding being a magnet for a good “chew”!
Wanting to explore the options available, the client contacted Maycroft Lloyd Loom. It was agreed that the chairs could be repaired, cleaned and repainted. The large table was also cleaned and repainted, with the brass retaining clips repolished.
The photo shows the restored set back in its pride of place next to the kitchen, resplendent in the new Mushroom paint colour – one of Maycroft’s standard range of colours - as good as the day it was made, ready now for the next 17 years of its life!
