We have just received our four Lloyd loom dining armchairs back from Maycroft, and we are so very pleased. This is the third reincarnation of this furniture. Purchased some years ago in cream with sage green cushions, and after a few years these were sent to Maycroft to be sprayed mid grey with cream cushions, followed by new cushions in mid grey. We now have our chairs in 'Raisin' which is a dark grey with brown tones, and bright mid royal blue cushions. These live around our chunky oak table in our breakfast room which is just off the kitchen. This is where the majority of our meals are taken and when friends drop by for a drink. I also use the chairs for my reading/TV watching/intervals when preparing meals, so they really earn their place in our home. The work has been meticulously carried out and collected and delivered back to us in line with the timescales we were given. I was even supplied with an offcut of the cushion fabric so that I can reupholster the seat pad of a stool which I use to put my feet upon when resting. Anna has been helpful with requests for different paint colours and fabrics and responding to emails promptly with all sorts of details, really excellent customer service. It is fair to say that having pieces renovated is not cheap but these are classic pieces of furniture and the renovation contributes towards a fresh look in this room. I am so pleased with the blue fabric - we have a large painted dresser with all sorts of stuff on including some 'Bristol Blue' glass and this shade of blue of the cushions now really makes the blue glass stand out, catching the eye. I can't wait until I have the opportunity to move around lamps and artwork, the pieces on the dresser....I can thoroughly recommend Maycroft to anyone with Lloyd Loom pieces which are a little tired, in need of a facelift.... a change is as good as a rest!
Our chairs were over 10 years old . They looked tired and I wanted to change their colour , to match our new decor. They now look brand new, colour is spot on and we are delighted. Excellent service .
I had two laundry baskets: one bought in the last 40 years and the other was my mother's, therefore bought about 90 years ago. I loved my mother's one because it had a glass top, held in place by brass fittings. Both baskets had seen better days: the newer one because our cat found it to be a joyful scratching post; and the older one was just getting very sad and losing its shine. They were both finished in a gold coloured paint, but unfortunately Maycroft no longer carries that colour. However, they were very generous in sending me the paint samples from which I chose Mushroom and Charcoal - a brave departure from the original colours. They now look perfect, and the glass and brass trim is clean and shiny once more.
I should like to thank Anna and Ian for a first class renovation, carried out with admirable professionalism, and also to say thank you to their courier company who were on time and very careful with the packing of my baskets.
We needed an original lloyd loom chair completely renovating. It was my mother's so it means a lot to me. From the beginning of the process to the return of the beautifully renovated chair, everything was so easily and well managed. A special thanks to Anna.
Not being local to Cleckheaton we contacted Anna at the company back in February and agreed that when we were next in the area we would drop our chair off and it would be renovated in about 4 days. Couriers are an option, but I like to meet people and as I was going that way it was a good fit.
We agreed drop off and collection dates and although we didn't meet Anna, Stefan and Tony received us and the chair, showed us their 'office' and some examples of their work and did a great job bringing our October 1947 example back to life.
We are delighted with the work and looking forward to adding a new cushion in due course. A delightful group of people who know what they're about and do exactly what they say they will.
