The range of Lloyd Loom furniture included bedside cabinets, dressing tables, sets of drawers, stool and chairs of various styles. All of which had given many years of great service, but were looking tired and dated in their Natural weave finish.
As part of a major refurbishment at the hotel, the designers chose to use Maycroft “Slate” weave colour, to give the Lloyd Loom pieces a more contemporary look alongside the new room theme colours.
As the rooms were emptied, Maycroft collected the furniture and brought it back to their Cleckheaton warehouse. The Lloyd Loom pieces were then dismantled (where needed), cleaned and any minor repairs were undertaken, prior to a base coat and 2 layers of the Slate colour were applied.
Several of the glass tops that are used on the bedside cabinets, dressing tables and drawers, were showing the age with small chips. Maycroft replaced all of the damaged glass and new brass clips supplied to hold the glass in place.
All of the work was undertaken within the specific timetable so that the hotel could re-open on time in early 2022.
